What is Connecticut Starter Basketball?

1. AAU TRAVEL TEAM TRYOUTS are a great way for all players from throughout the state to learn and compete with other players their own age in a structured format.

2. SELECT TRAVEL TEAMS COMPETING IN REGIONAL AND NATIONAL AAU TOURNAMENTS (April-July) provide the elite player an opportunity to practice and play with and against the best AAU players in the East and throughout the country.    2011 RESULTS!!! This link has the weekly results from our 2011 Weekly and National Tournaments!!

3. THE BASKETBALL FACTORY SUMMER CAMPS (July) are a great way to work on individual skills in a total basketball environment. Hundreds joined for the 2011 camps. Be sure to sign up for camp in 2012.

4. THE NORTHEAST COLLEGE SHOWCASE (September) gives players from throughout New England the chance to showcase their talents in front of Division II and III coaches from across the region.
   See the 2011 CT Starters College Showcase All-Tournament Team and Colleges that attended.

5. THE FALL BASKETBALL LEAGUES (September - November) is the best place to get ready for the upcoming school season.
   

6. THE DAVE HOPLA SHOOTING CAMP is offered in the summer of each year to improve the shooting skills of all participants. Visit Dave's site at www.davehopla.com

• Our coaches are among the best in Connecticut.
• Last year our travel teams played a total of nearly 250 games, including Orlando, Washington DC, Virginia Beach, and Montreal!
• We have won 81 State AAU Titles, 10 National AAU medals and 2 Division II National Championships in our 21-Year existence through 2008.
• Many of our players have been named to Street & Smith magazine's All-America teams.
• Starters alumnae include Jennifer Rizzotti, coach of the University of Hartford Hawks, Nykesha Sales and Maria Conlon.
• Over 40 Starter alumnae are currently playing NCAA basketball at colleges across the United States.
• 36 colleges were represented at our 2011 College Showcase.
• Over 15 former Starters players or coaches will be coaching college basketball and numerous others will be coaching at high schools.
• Over 1,000 girls took part in Camps, Shooting Clinics, Top 100 Clinic, Fall League, or our Travel Teams last year.

Regardless of which phases are best for you, CONNECTICUT STARTERS provides a full compliment of basketball services from March-November. If basketball is your game.......think STARTERS!
